Hospital, Rehab, and Senior Community Notarizations — What to Expect

Bedside signings are a regular part of our practice. The setting is unusual; the notarization itself is the same as any other. What helps is knowing what to have ready before we arrive, so the visit is calm and the document gets done without a re-visit.

Before We Arrive

Three things make every hospital and care-facility signing go smoothly:

— The signer is alert, aware, and willing — A current government-issued photo ID is in hand (passport, driver license, or state ID) — Any required witnesses are arranged, or we know about it in advance

If the signer is unsure about ID, witnesses, or cognition, call (513) 226-9052 before the appointment. We work through it on the phone.

During the Visit

We arrive, check in at the desk, verify identity, confirm willingness, witness the signature, and complete the notarial certificate. We do not give medical or legal advice. We are an impartial witness to the signature — that is the protection the notarization provides.

Most bedside visits take fifteen to twenty minutes once we are in the room.
