What do I need to get my will or POA notarized?
Bring your completed, unsigned document, a valid government-issued photo ID, and any required witnesses. Ohio wills typically require two disinterested witnesses plus a notary. Do not sign until the notary is present.
Estate document signings are unhurried by design. Most take 30 to 45 minutes at your kitchen table, and once you know what to gather, the appointment itself is the easy part. We work at your pace.
What to Have Ready
Estate paperwork moves smoothly when a few basics are in place before we arrive:
- Current photo ID for every signer (driver's license, state ID, or passport)
- Documents complete but unsigned — please don't sign in advance
- Witnesses if the form requires them (most wills need two disinterested adults)
- A quiet space with a flat surface and good light
If your attorney drafted the documents, follow their delivery instructions. We notarize exactly the package you bring — we don't edit, draft, or advise on content.
The Common Documents
Most Ohio families end up with a familiar set:
