Remote Hire I-9 — Authorized Representative Service for Employers

When a new employee is hired into a remote or hybrid role, completing Section 2 of Form I-9 in person becomes a logistical problem. Federal rules allow the employer to designate an authorized representative to inspect the employee's identification and complete the form. We provide that service across the six-county area.

For Employers

A short setup keeps the appointment clean:

— Send clear written authorization to the representative and the employee — Provide the current version of Form I-9 and the completion deadline — Confirm which acceptable List A, B, and C documents the employee will present — Specify how the completed form should be returned (scan, mail, or both)

The representative is acting on the employer's behalf — the employer remains responsible for the I-9.

For Employees

The appointment is brief if the documents are ready:

— Bring original, unexpired identification from the I-9 lists — Confirm the name on the documents matches the employer's HR record — Allow about thirty minutes for review and signing

What We Do at the Appointment

We meet the employee at a convenient location, inspect the original documents against the lists, complete Section 2 per the employer's instructions, and return the completed form as directed. We do not give immigration or employment legal advice.
